First, let me just say a huge “Thank You!” You being here at my blog, when there are millions of other blogs you could be reading…it makes my heart happy that you’re here.
Blogging is my love! Writing, sharing, learning, photography, and especially the interactions with my readers make blogging a total joy. I’m the sole author and editor of my blog, and it’s very important to me that you as a reader can trust me, and that my site does not feel spammy. I have from the start believed in full disclosure, and have chosen to be transparent about when and how I earn money here on Gwen’s Nest.
I’m not a techy person by *any* stretch of the imagination, so most of the stuff below is Greek to me, but I’m making all of this fantabulous technical jargon available for you if you want or need to know any of it. This falls into the “what I beg my husband to help me with” category. 🙂
Your privacy, and my integrity are really important to me. I don’t collect, use, or sell any personal information on my readers. I do use Google’s site analysis tool to figure out what sorts of posts are most popular and what information is most relevant to you, my reader.

Thank You For Your Support!
I have to give credit where credit is due…I would not be where I am without my amazing readers. You guys have supported me through some really tough times, and we’ve rejoiced, laughed, and cried together. And eaten some amazing (and healthy) food together! My blog is what it is today because of you. So I just want to say it again: thank you for your love and support!
I enjoy blogging, and I enjoy hearing about it if you enjoy my blog or even if you have some constructive criticism. Here are a few ways to send me a virtual hug or high five…
- You can send me encouragement, thanks and love by commenting, or writing me a note.
It thrills my heart to hear from my readers. Did you know that comments & shares tell Google and other search engines that my site has good content? Which in turn helps my site pop up more often in searches, and helps more people find quality sites. So thank you! ♥
- You can share the posts you like on your social media or Pinterest boards…this is a good spot to park things to read later, and it’s one way that my blog can grown new readers. So thank you! ♥
- Another very easy way you can support what I’m doing here, is to shop with me right here from my blog with affiliate links & partners, or my Amazon store. I’ll give you a tour of my personal favorite brands and places to shop with Gwen. If you’re not familiar with affiliate programs, they are simply links with a special code for my blog. You will pay the exact same price by simply clicking through my special links to purchase items that you would anyway; and I can earn a small commission for each sale. So thank you! ♥
How, When and Why I Earn Money on Gwen’s Nest
Before I started blogging, I had *no* idea about the time and cost involved. Maintaining a website takes time and money. Turns out there’s a lot of back-end stuff with blogging and costs like hosting and domain name registration and junk. I like the fun stuff: the writing, photography & cooking! Did you know that each blog post I write takes an average of 4-6 hours to publish, not counting recipe development & cooking? Crazy, huh!?!! It’s a good think I *love* what I do. So for these reasons, I choose to use tasteful ads and the other means of income below to support my blogging addiction.
Ever been to a blog that’s sort of like the ads section of the newspaper? Except with blinky, pop up craziness? Yeah…I don’t like those either. That’s now what I do here, although I do have some ads and some income streams from my blog. I’ll tell you all about it.

More Long Boring Stuff That I Want to Fully Disclose to You…
Affiliate Programs & Amazon Store
I am a member of a few affiliate programs (See here). I really enjoy Amazon’s program, mainly because I *love* to shop with trusted sellers on Amazon.
Amazon Affiliate
Gwen’s Nest is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon. com. Amazon was an easy pick for me, because I already love to shop there from my trusted retailers to take advantage of their great shipping deals!
I occasionally share links to products that I use and love as a service to my readers.
I can’t be responsible for any interaction you might have with Amazon or their sellers. I can tell you that their customer service has always been stellar for any issues I’ve had in the past.
Product Reviews and Sponsored Posts
I love to share books, products, and brands that I respect and use. Frequently, I share items here just because I like the product or book with no compensation or knowledge from the companies or authors.
Sometimes I work with an author, a small business owner, or a company to review their product or I’m paid to write about how I use it. I promise that I will always tell you when that is the case. I only enter into these agreements if it’s *genuinely* a product I use and enjoy. You have my word that the opinions I express here are genuine and honest, and all the way mine.

Advertisers
We currently work with Google Adsense to place ads. If there is ever *any* problem with an ad on my site, please contact me and let me know!
I have set the settings to be very picky about which ads can run, but unfortunately, I’ve had a few not-so-family friendly ads slip through and have had to manually block them.
We use outside advertising networks and companies in order to display ads on this site. These ads may contain cookies and/or web beacons in order to collect data in the ad serving process. These such cookies and/or web beacons are collected by the companies and/or advertising networks, themselves. I do not have any access to this information.
