Easy Herbal Oils Tip
To make an herb infused oil, which is the basis for soaps, salves, and can even be used in cooking and salad dressings, simply add dried herbs to oil and allow to steep at room temperature or on very low heat until the oil takes on the scent and color of the herbs, then strain. Fresh herbs may be used for culinary purposes but the water in the herbs creates an environment that fosters mold growth, so I prefer dried herbs for making shelf stable products like salves.
