Essential oils are an important part of my natural medicine cabinet. I’ve tried all different brands and essential oils stores from the uber pricey multi-level marketing companies to the ones available at my local big box store (in a pinch!). I’ve found that they all work well for scent and topical applications.
I’m confident in the products so long as the manufacturer has the oils tested via mass spectrometer to ensure purity- this shows that the oils are unadulterated and are free of pesticides and residues, and most importantly that you’re actually getting the oil that you’re paying for.

My Favorite Budget Essential Oils
I use these for flavoring in recipes (drop by drop), and in my diffusers.
NOW does do a lot of product testing for purity. They offer great products at a great price!
My Favorite “Top Shelf” Essential Oils Shops
Eden’s Garden and Plant Therapy are two of my favorites brands for using medicinally. They are highly rated by independent sources, and by aromatherapists. Both companies offer top quality essential oils at very fair prices. I love the Kid Safe line from Plant Therapy, as they take the guesswork out of kid safe blends.

Carrier Oils, Diffusers, and Accessories
I keep a couple of carrier oils on hand…usually almond and fractionated coconut. I also like to keep a stash of roller bottles and sample bottles for sharing with friends or making easy on the go dillutions. I have switched over from humidifiers to the ultrasonic diffusers in bedrooms. They not only add humidity to the room, but can diffuse oils as well, and are much smaller and easier to clean and store.
