Today, my scale told me that I’ve lost 30 pounds since January 1st. I just really am so shocked and delighted! I can finally fit into my lovely vintage clothing and swimsuits again. I told you I would do a photo shoot of me in my swimsuit on my mini van. I lied.
Instead, here is a photo of me in a lovely little vintage number that’s been hanging in the back of my closet since <long pause for tabulations> 2006.
That’s seven years of chubby, GONE!
I’m cleaning out my closet, and focusing on muscle tone. And I’m still LOVING my Trim Healthy Mama lifestyle! If you’ve considered it at all, I would encourage you to read the book and get going on it! If you’ve never heard of it, then skedaddle on over to my Trim Healthy Mama book review.
I still get to eat Trim Healthy Mama style for my last few pounds, AND then I still get to eat Trim Healthy Mama style to maintain my loss. I’m loving it!
P. S. A few people ask me how often I exercise. The answer is four. Four times since January 1st, for about 15 minutes each. So this is purely driven by my food choices. Even though I do believe in exercise and all, I’ve had low adrenal function, so I am at a point now where leisurely walks works better for me than high intensity.

Because of another blogger, I bought the THM book. Then I found you, and you have encouraged me more. My main goal was to lose about 16 pounds or drop one to two sizes. I’ve lost 12 or more pounds and one size in about 10 weeks. I haven’t tried your cookie dough dip or raspberry syrup, but I’m planning to soon.
You look great, and I’m so glad you have finally been able to take off the extra weight. I hope you start feeling a lot healthier and your adrenals get back in order. Great job! Please keep sharing any great recipes you have.
I have a question. Do you still use wheat in your diet? Do you use your focaccia dough recipe for your pizzas that you eat? Just thought I’d ask.
Its_Gwen says
Hi Michelle,
Yes, I do use the foccacia bread recipe weekly! It’s a great E option, and we use it as our pizza crust and as foccacia bread with bean soups. I have adapted it to only 2 cups white, and 4 1/2 cups whole wheat now, though to be more THM friendly. Pearl has approved it as a good option!
SO glad you’re enjoying my blog. The Trim Healthy Mama facebook group is tons of encouragement and recipes too if you’d like to join us there!

I’m not on facebook, so I can only see some of the THM facebook page. I’m disappointed that THM’s website doesn’t have some of the tips/extras I heard you can download from their facebook page. We’ve made a family decision not to be on facebook at this time. But, I have gotten some recipes from THM’s forum, non-private facebook portion and pinterest.

Hi Michelle,
I can understand your disappointment. I helped form and moderate the facebook group, and have put hours into creating these resources in the files/docs.
The reason the page is private is so that the ladies comments and personal health/weight info do not show up everyone else’s feeds.
If you’re able to even join for a day or so, you could copy/paste or download the files that you want from the group.
Michelle Grimes says
That’s an idea. I’ll think about that.
I understand why they want some privacy for those who are posting, but I wish they would include the extra resources that you’ve helped with that don’t need to be private on their website too besides facebook. Just something to think about. I know most people are on facebook, but there really are some of us out here who have decided not to be.
Thanks Gwen for your kind responses back.

Hi Michelle,
Many of the document (almost all of the recipe ones) are works in progress where members put recipes that they find and like…I really can’t find the time to even up date them as often as they should be. It would be nice to have them in a more public place, but the maintenance of keeping them up just wouldn’t happen. I am aware that not everyone participates in facebook, but it’s a convenient spot for me, and their group format is so much more fun and dynamic than a forum, IMO.
You may request that some docs be pulled over to the non-private part of their forums on the fanpage…I only help out on the facebook group, so I am not really of any help with the other THM sites or internet locations.
Best of luck, and say hello if you do come join us for a day or so! 🙂
