Thank you Gwen. I’m sitting here bawling my eyes out. I’ve been so miserable and yucky feeling all of December and right into January. It’s all because I got lazy. I got frustrated because the darn scale has not been moving. So I let my old self back in and started eating….everything. My 1 year is in May. I’ve lost 40 lbs this far. Today, I’m gonna keep on going. Thank you! Ps: you look fabulous!!
(((hugs))) You can do this, and you know what? Sometimes falling off the horse really works in your favor, because you’ll be able to FEEL how much of a difference that THM makes! And that will help you resist the temptations later because BOY do they make you feel like crud, and they never quite taste as good as you think they will. 🙂
Your review was the reason I decided to give THM a try. I’m so glad I did 20 pounds gone in 6 months and only 5 more pounds until goal weight. Your blog is a huge ministry helping woman with THM. Blessings!

Popcorn does fit in an E setting, but I would look for other delicious snacks that you love. If you are having serious carb cravings, then maybe up your E meals. 🙂
Gwen you inspired me back in the fall, and I’ve had an on/off relationship with THM over the past months. Due to a lot of my stress eating. Well, I started yesterday and stayed on plan all day. And so far all day today. I even had my daughter take my picture last night (which I HATE) because I want to be a before/after picture in a year! Thanks so much for sharing your story and your encouragement on your blog and the FB page! 🙂

I just received an email to this page and I sure am glad that I opened it. You look very healthy and happy. Congratulations!!! I just started this plan on Jan. 1st. My daughter in law has been on it for 2 months and she did so well that I wanted to try it. She got the book downloaded on my ipad for me for Christmas and so the journey begins. I have lost 9 pounds in 2 weeks so I am super excited to continue. I really need some good receipes…I am eating the same 4 meals everyday so I hope to find some things on here I can start enjoying. I LOVE your transformation and the ones I see on FB also. I still haven’t been able to afford the book and am very confused about what to eat with what and what to not eat together. But when I see these pics I think OMG I want to do it…..

Gwen I have searched and no but am going to ask them to order it, if they get enough requests for it they usually will. Ironically the cdn chapters ( like barnes and nobles) also don’t carry it. I think perhaps on line but not sure, even still I can’t get it right now. super low on funds since my long term disability has been terminated. oh well will try to get it somehow. Thanks for thinking of an alternative idea, and yes going to library tomorrow am!

Is it possible to do THM with dairy and whey allergies? Also, I don’t eat much meat, only chicken every once in awhile. I’m also gluten free. Thanks.

THM doesn’t require specific foods, as it’s a way of combining foods…so there is lots of choice. However, you will find a lot of THM friendly recipes that your food requirements don’t allow you to enjoy. But there is a fantastic group on Facebook called Trim Healthy Mama Allergen Free where you can find lots of support and recipes! 🙂

Thank you SO much, Jessica! I love THM because it takes the food guilt out of the picture. For me, it exposed some underlying health issues that I also needed to deal with. 🙂 And since I was eating so well, I knew that something else was going on, and that it wasn’t a failure on my part or on the part of what I was eating. <3

Hi Mary! You can find LOTS of info on the Trim Healthy Mama plan here, including the Quick Start Guide. But probably the easiest way of understanding it at first is this post about how I took one meal and served it five different THM meal types. It’s less about counting and more about awareness of food/fuel combinations.

Wonderful! I am a size 16 and want to be an 8 again. I started THM when it was brand new and list about 18 pounds in a few weeks but then got pregnant and could not handle eating all the chocolate I was eating on it. Fast forward 3 years and I’m still a size 16. My question is, the title of your post on Pinterest suggests that you are going to describe why someone might not be losing weight on THM and what they can do about it, but I didn’t see where you addressed that at all. Did I miss something?
