Baby, it’s cold outside! So WHY am I making a milkshake? Because it’s a gingerbread milkshake! That makes it a seasonal flavor, and totally legit. Just like my Frozen Eggnog Milkshake that’s my other favorite this time of year. And yeah…even the Peppermint Chip counts too.
Anything that keeps me out of the drive through line at Red Robin or Chick-fil-A makes me happy, but ESPECIALLY if the recipe happens to be sugar free, protein packed, and TOTALLY delicious. And this one is!

Gingerbread Milkshake Recipe
This Gingerbread Cookie milkshake knocks my socks off with it’s creamy vanilla goodness, and the spicy warm kick that hits just a split second after you take that first sip. It’s heaven in a glass!
It’s inspired by a soft, spicy gingerbread cookie. I think you’ll agree that it hits all the right flavor notes!
The Way the Gingerbread Cookie Crumbles
I even developed an AMAZING and quick gingerbread cookie crumble topping to garnish it with that I’m sharing with my weekly newsletter subscribers. I love to share special little things with them from time to time, because they’re my peeps!

An Honorable Mention for Your Gift List
I also have to gush for just a minute about the BEST gift I got last year. My Mother in Law bought me this whipped cream dispenser, and it’s the BOMB! I can whip up (get it?) vanilla stevia sweetened whipped cream in no time flat.
Stevia plays SO nicely with whipped cream. I can even use my favorite brand of cream, and flavor it any way I want to. I HIGHLY recommend this if you love the spray whipped cream. 🙂 The charger refill cartridges cost only .50 each, so it’s VERY cost effective to use. Plus, you can use LOTS more whipped cream if it’s sweetened with stevia!
Let’s make this Gingerbread Milkshake!
Gingerbread Milkshake Recipe Printable & Pin
To Pin!
- ½ cup low fat cottage cheese (I love Daisy 2%)
- ⅛ teaspoon baking soda
- 3 tablespoons Sweet Brown Sugar Sub
- 1/32 teaspoon stevia extract, aka 1 "doonk"
- 1 teaspoon to 1 tablespoon powdered ginger, to taste- mine was not as strong so 1 tablespoon worked great here. If yours is fresher or stronger, start with 1 teaspoon.
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- dash of cloves and nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups ice cubes
- 1½ cup unsweetened almond milk
- Place all ingredients into your blender, and blend until smooth and creamy.
- Taste and adjust sweetness and spice to your liking.
- Garnish with stevia sweetened whipped cream, and optional gingerbread cookie crumbles.

I received an email today offering me an exclusive recipe for Gingerbread Cookie Crumbles and also the Gingerbread Milkshake. I was able to pull up and print the crumbles recipe but I can’t seem to access the milkshake recipe. The link shows but nothing happens when I click on it. I really want the Milkshake recipe! 🙂 Can someone help?
Thank you!
Carol
The milkshake recipe is on the main blog page whereas the crumble recipe is in the subacriber area.
We had a whipped cream dispenser when I was growing up. Loved it!
And your Subscriber Vault idea is awesome! Thank you.
Oh. Em. Yummy GOODNESS!!! Sipping (GULPING) it right now…seriously? SERIOUSLY?! This is GOOD for me?!!! And it’s a FP?!!! Thank you, Gwen! You are my new best friend. Btw, I don’t have any molasses to make the brown sugar, so I used 2 doonks of stevia and a few drops of maple extract. Mmmmmm so good!!!
Oh, dear me! This is AMAZING! And because I am a subscriber, I made up the cookie crumbles for the topping and absolutely LOVED the extra pop of flavor it gave! Another winner, Gwen!
I am a subscriber and I have searched and searched my email newsletter but cannot find a link to the Gingerbread Cookie Crumbles. Help!
So, I RE-submitted my info for your email newsletter and was able to get it that way. Thanks a bunch!
Lori, it should have come yesterday. If you’ll go back to any of your newsletters, and find the arrow that says Freebies, you can log in that way and grab it. 🙂
I can’t find the gingerbread cookie crumbles recipe I was sent. How can I get that again? I’m already subscribed
I’ll email you. 🙂
I just found the link that was sent to me and I typed in the secret password but nothing happened.
Can this be used as a breakfast or would I need to add more protein?
I’d probably just do this as a breakfast, since it’s got the cottage cheese as a protein source. 🙂
Mmmm that was SO good and with the gingerbread crumbles- over the Top! Wow! I always find your recipes to be like that! Thanks so much!
Thank you Leslie! You’re making me blush. 🙂
Gwen! Hello! I just HAD to write and tell you how delicious that gingerbread shake is! It is just amazing. thanks for the recipe!!
Thank you, Judi!
I’m sorry for another troubleshooting comment, but I don’t see a subscriber’s vault and haven’t gotten a newsletter yet. I just resubmitted my info to make sure I’m subscribed. I want to make this with the topping, please! 🙂
